If you are going on vacation during the 3rd quarter of 2009 a Discover credit card can get you 5% cash back in categories typical for vacation spending. From July 1st to September 31st you earn 5% cash back on gas, hotels, theme parks, Zoos, and bookstores. This is going to be a popular offer and Discover has decided to cap the 5% cash back for the first $300 spent in these categories, but if you go above this amount the regular cash back will still apply.
